OH MY…HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR HOMES AND LOVE ONES
There was a miraculous help from God of Christians in Palu, Indonesia at the time of the Earthquake. A Christian Pilot had a big burden in his heart when he landed at the airport there. He was singing the psalm 23:4 << Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.>> all the time and the Muslim assistant pilot joked < You can make a CD with your hymn songs> Then he asked the crew members to return to the plane within 20 minutes after deplane for the break. In the meantime he asked the control tower for the permission to depart and got it. As soon as the crew members returned, he taxied and accelerated for the take off. The airplane departed 3-5 minutes earlier than the normal. Then the Muslim Assistant Pilot wondered about the Captain because the acceleration was his job, not the job for Captain. But the Christian Captain accelerated with the full speed and was about to take off. At that time they noticed the shaky and trembling grounds. They thought the runaway had something wrong. Captain called the Control Tower, but the man didn't answer. Captain realized that there was an Earthquake in Palu, Sulawesi only after he arrived at Jakarta and that the control tower man was killed by the collapse of the tower. It was a miracle of saving 140 people on board thru the Christian Pilot.
Allah has no son, but God of Christianity has the Son, Son of God, Jesus Christ. The more important difference is that, Allah is gracious and merciful and forgives the sinners without punishing their sins and crimes, while God of Christianity cannot forgive the sinners without punishing their sins and crimes. Therefore He sent His beloved Son Jesus Christ to this world and Jesus took over the sin of the world and was punished on behalf of the human race, He was crucified on the Cross and His Blood paid the full price for the sin of the world. This is called the Redemption. My friends of Islam said to me that everyone must bear the sin for himself or for herself, no one else can be responsible for other person's sins. However, in case of Jesus Christ, He is the Son of God and is Eternal Being, and therefore Jesus could take over the sins of the world and carried the Cross on behalf of the people of the world, paid the full price for our sins by His Own Blood. This kind of Redemption cannot be found either in Islam or in any other religion, because no one else than Jesus has claimed that he was dying for the sin of the world.
The problem with Allah's gracious forgiveness is that Allah forgives the sinners without punishing their sins and thereby Allah becomes the supporter of the sinners and the terrorists. In case of the Christian God, He clearly keep the distance from the sinners by the Death Penalty for the all sinners, and Jesus bore that penalty. The Faith of the believers becomes the bridge between the historical fact at the Cross and the person who believes, and therefore God forgives the sinners based on the Redemption by Jesus Christ.
When I explained this to my friends, they refuted and questioned how could God die and the universe was still being operated? It is possible because God is in triune and God the Father and God the Holy Spirit was operating the whole universe while Jesus was in the tomb.
I heard many Christians as well were killed in Palu during the Earthquake, but the truly born-again Christians pay the keen attention to the voice of the Holy Spirit and they are truly protected by the True God, based on the Redemption by Jesus Christ who shed the Blood at the Cross to pay the price for the sins of the world. Therefore we can confess that we were crucified along with Jesus Christ at the Cross, and now we live no longer but Christ lives within us and now we are new creatures in Jesus Christ. God Bless!
