There are enough testing kits. I work in the Ministry of Health and we are even increasing the amount of testing per day to 14,000 at the beginning of April which is the highest in Asia. So there is no issue of lack of testing kits. Its an issue of adherence to laws of the country. The lockdown has been in place for close to 2 weeks now. If she was in Malaysia during that time, she should have made arrangements to leave. I understand the Malaysian government allowed leniency in the early days for tourists to get out and locals to come back in. What she should do is to contact her embassy in Kuala Lumpur to sort it out as this is a situation where Malaysia has shut all air traffic in and out for almost two weeks now. Her embassy should make arrangements for her because of her nationality.

I would urge everyone to take a moment and think about Kashmir which has been locked down by the Indian government for more than 2 months. Imagine what the Kashmiris are going through even without a pandemic.

They are tourists who flew out around March 23, when Thailand got stricter with their border. They needed to acquire all the proper papers to enter Thailand, which they did. They flew out to Bangkok, bringing all the necessary papers, but were not allowed to enter and were not given a reason. Air Asia decided to fly them back to KLIA, but they were also refused entry.

How she get food? Do the restaurants still open? Or got somebody send supplies? The lockdown surely will extend after 14th April. Maybe the Russian embassy should find for her temporary foster family in malaysia.

people who now at other states should be barred from moving back to hometown during MCO to avoid spreading virus. they too have places to stay with friends or relatives. giving them move around will give others an excuse to travel around. better stay where they are. if they get infected, a much longer period of time u can't get back with their families. there will be people who are stubborn, will ignore it and find a way back especially from Sabah and Sarawak

Call your embassy and go back home!. The entire world is facing a pandemic and you're worried about your next holiday trip. No country is going to let you in alone without any help from your embassy. Listen to the news once in a while for god sake. You have 90 days of visa in Malaysia but you've forfeited it when you decided to get out of from the country.

Theres a Russian Embassy somewhere in Kuala Lumpur, One of the russian citizen were having a vacation across malaysia, after that he got stuck in Malaysia cuz of the lockdown. Finally a woman shared a photo with him in social media, and the police were straight going to the location, after being founded, he goes to the Russian Embassy in KL and was send home. Easy

Hello everyone I know what is going on because I am her son I am the one sleeping on the floor in the end of the video. Valarie posted this video when the russian embassy was closed so we couldn't call them, and Thailand was where I was born and raised. We were trying to get home from KL where mom was volunteering at the refugee center for 3 months before that. We were not traveling. And everyone in the comments are incorrect because they are judging without knowing the situation.

Interesting to see how people jump into conclusions without having any information about the actual situation. And who is brainless here? "The tourist" wasn't a tourist, she was coming back from Malaysia where she was working at the refugee center, to Thailand, where she lived for 10 years and where her son was born and raised. The tickets were booked when the situation with the virus started getting worse and everyone was advised to go back home. To their families.

BANGKOK: Russian hostel manager Valerie Azure has spent the past three nights sleeping on the floor of a Malaysian airport along with her young son, after Southeast Asian nations sealed borders and cancelled flights in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Azure, 31, said more than a dozen people were stranded with her in the international airport in Kuala Lumpur, among hundreds marooned across the globe, according to media reports, as the virus plays havoc with travel plans.
After several weeks volunteering in a community centre for Afghan refugees in Malaysia, Azure said she and her nine-year-old son boarded an AirAsia flight for Thailand on Monday but were sent back after officials asked for blood tests proving they were free of the virus.
Malaysia has banned foreigners from entering since March 18.
“They said ‘you’re going to have to stay here’. We thought maybe they are not being serious, in the beginning,” Azure told Reuters via WhatsApp.
Azure said people from Vietnam, Pakistan, and the Philippines were stranded alongside her. Airline staff bring them three meals a day of rice or noodles, and some water. They sleep on makeshift beds fashioned from cardboard and fabric.
Azure, who has lived in Thailand for the past seven years and runs a hostel on Koh Tao island, said she cannot afford to buy a $3,000 ticket to Russia, where she has no friends or family.
They were planning to stay until the end of Malaysia’s ban on foreign entries, on March 31, but it has since been extended until April 14. The Russian embassy told her they may be taken to an immigration detention centre, she said.
A Malaysian airport spokeswoman said AirAsia had informed them Azure was working with her embassy to find a solution.
“Please be rest assured that AirAsia is taking good care of their welfare and providing them sufficient meals during this difficult period,” she said.
AirAsia did not return a request for comment by Reuters.
Immigration department director-general Khairul Dzaimee Daud said in a text message they were looking into the case.
Azure said her son had been despondent since security officials confiscated his only toy, a ball.
“They said ‘This is an airport and not a playground’. It was his only entertainment… Now he’s just sitting there, I’m trying to keep him busy, to play games.”
She worries about them falling sick in the airport.
“I don’t know how safe it is… All we have left is just to hope and pray.”
