Indonesia’s COVID-19 Response: Too Little, Too Late?

Indonesia has Asia’s highest #COVID19 mortality fee of 8-9 per cent, and essentially the most variety of deaths after China. Some say its gradual response to the pandemic is simply too little, too late.

The federal government reported zero to low infections within the early levels of the pandemic, whereas a marketing campaign to #LockdownOrDie urged Indonesian authorities to take pressing motion. Observers warn that confronted with a surge of instances, the nation’s insufficient healthcare infrastructure and medical staff are getting ready to breaking down.

President Joko Widodo has since allotted some US$26 billion to the struggle in opposition to the coronavirus. However epidemiologists are apprehensive the transfer to ease social restrictions now amid financial hardship might worsen the outbreak.

it is not indonesia not being able to cope with the covid situation but all the altered health SOPs' that is making everyone a suspect of covid.

way before the existence of covid, there are many sick civilians who did not get enough medical attention as they get today; thus everything is calm enough (unreported) and even death burial place are scattered and death are unreported before the arise of covid situation.

with the existence of covid, those who previously did not get enough medical attention NOW receive way too much attention and even until the healthy ones are being screened. death suddenly are widely reported on daily basis.

if this practice of screening everyone almost on a daily level (even people not qualified as doc NOW screen themselves everyday); do not mention indonesia alone but all other countries would be suffering the same fate as indonesia.

Wow, looks like their working hard making it real hay. That is so amazing. I have never seen anything so amazing in my life. It's so amazing I have to think of a higher reason for this. For example, we as amazing people go through a cycle. Peace, Holocaust, War, Depression, Fix Everything, Peace. I think each part of the cycle is about 15-30 years. Their is probably about 10 more years left until we get into the war part. And we don't actually know we are in a Holocaust until it's over and the war starts because of it.

Today there is good news from Jakarta. Despite only 6% of the population having had a single course of 'needlework', 50% of the population have antibodies and therefore had a mild form of the 'car owner'. This puts the dramatic numbers of cases and deaths into context and they will peak. I do not say this lightly as as two of my friends have died.
Indonesia's medical infrastructure is a misnomer, it has a system for selling health products to those who can afford it. That this system cannot cope with this crisis should come as no surprise, its not designed to do so. Deaths in my village are currently alarming, but it has no health facilities to speak of and no transport to the overcrowded hospitals in the towns. But as I say it will peak.

The Great Tribulation had commenced to test humans from all nations over the entire world. The time of truth is coming, the Lord is destroying all religions, breaking down all assembly of people praying within building, over all religions on earth, even including mega churches. This is the time to pray at home, individually seek for God, individually meet God in privacy, talk to God, not the god(s) of religion(s), but the Creator of the universe.

stay home and stop socializing. I dont get it, when you were born in Indonesia, being neglected by the government is the culture as well as being neglected by the parents and adults. Ive had built this mentality since i was a kid that the only one person who is responsible for me is me.

So i think each individual around the Globe who cannot afford food and proper life just because of 1-2 years of lockdown need to blame themselves. Where have you been in past decades before Covid? Did you work and try your best and focus in making better life or just spending your life pitying yourself and blame others for your incapability? OR spent all your money for branded clothing and latest gadget to impress others. I knew many people who spent their money for travelling , fell into the trap of a digital nomad living …most ppl got married and breed children eventhough you couldnt afford to support them with proper life…..

Talking about being poor since you were born so do other millions of people who took actions and have been succesfully changed that fate.

You can say millions words about Government and so on, but it wont change your life. What will change your life is to forget about Government and take responsibility of your life back into your own hands. Forget about Government starting today. This wont be your last crisis. The next upcoming crisis are coming and its going to be harder. Hey, its life and it is what it is.

Arogancy, dumb, stubborn, self-dilussion and self-denial that consumed Indonesia now into the worst poor handling covid19.
The government and the majority of the people.
Dahulu tahun 2019 dan hingga saat ini. Masih sama mentalitas sombong, bodoh, acuh, mengampangkan masalah, halu dan sering self-denial, makanya nggak selesai2x tiap hari yg mati >1000 orang.
I am an Indonesian, i love my country but at the same time i also hate the way how our government is very poorly handling the pandemic and many of my fellowcitizen stupid behaviour towards covid19.

what Dr. Charlotte said is 100% true, the positive rate covid in Indonesia on June 16, 2021 according to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health is an average of 45.53%, so every 100 people tested 46 people are confirmed positive for covid, Indonesia population 270 millions people can we imagine that 45,53% positive and the city in Jakarta's positive rate is 40% From a population of 7.5 million people, we can imagine how many people have been infected with COVID-19 in Indonesia, huge epicentrum , my estimate 20 to 30 millions already infected in Indonesia .
