I've sympathy for Afghan people who have suffered so much during this war. But honestly since Taliban's have taken over Kabul they've not threatened anyone as these Taliban's are way different from the ones in 1990's. Even during 1990's afghan people asked these religious students (who later became Taliban) for support to help them from so called Mujahideen's who were giving them a hard time and these students on the demand of Afghan people formed a group to fight against Mujhadeen's to restore peace and security.
During 1990's Taliban's have won Afghan people's heart by fighting against Mujhadeen's and with the support of people they came into politics to form their government. Later their ideology got changed and they started forcing Burkha's and some of their group didn't want women to educate in certain field and therefore Liberals started hating them as they don't want to live in Afghanistan as their dream is always wanted to leave Afghanistan to live a better life in West or somewhere else. I've some friends who migrated from Afghanistan and I've personally asked them would they go back to Afghanistan if United Nations or US will help them and form a new government in Afghanistan, you'll be shocked as his answer was "No". He said there is nothing to do in Afghanistan even we've to borrow food from neighbouring countries so what I'm going to do their, I'm happily living in west and I've no intentions in going back to Afghanistan even if there is a peace in my country. I'm not taking anyone's side but Government of Canada should create a proper immigration system and should only accept Refugees through express entry pool who can benefit Canada in long term. There is no threat or any danger in Afghanistan at this point as Taliban's are giving their interviews to western media and they're willing to give rights to women. I've a humble request from Government of Canada to please take a rational decision and only accept those refugees who can benefit Canada in long run as there are 3.98 million Canadians who are under poverty line and government should do something for them before accepting more refugees.
