The panel is being headed by Medicine Controller Common of India (DCGI) Dr V G Somani.
“The federal government has determined to represent a committee for framing/preparation of the New Medicine, Cosmetics and Medical Units Invoice in order that the New Medicine, Cosmetics and Medical Units Act could be framed,” a well being ministry order issued not too long ago stated.
The Medicine and Cosmetics Act, 1940, regulates the import, manufacture, distribution and sale of medication, cosmetics and medical units. This Act is amended now and again. The final modification within the Act was made in 2008.
On the phrases of reference of the committee, the order stated, “The committee shall undertake pre-legislative consultations and look at the current Act, beforehand framed Medicine and Cosmetics Payments and submit a draft paperwork for a de-novo Medicine, Cosmetics and Medical Units Invoice by November 30, 2021.”
