A Citilink airplane headed to Batam from Jakarta needed to make an emergency touchdown yesterday after an unattended baby tried to open an emergency exit mid-flight.
The airplane made the unscheduled cease in Palembang’s Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport at 4:05pm after the flight’s captain determined to take the precautionary measure following the incident.
Based on Citilink, the kid was not underneath the supervision of their mother and father after they indifferent the security cowl to the latch of an emergency exit door.
Fortunately, the door didn’t open mid-flight.
“The cabin crew instantly sought an evidence from the kid’s mother and father. The mother and father had been additionally required to make a press release to the authorities at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II,” Citilink Company Secretary and CSR VP Diah Suryani said in a statement published yesterday.
No sanctions have been introduced for the mother and father to date.
Beneath present COVID-19 protocols, youngsters underneath the age of 12 should not permitted to journey by air.
Diah mentioned the kid on this incident had acquired official dispensation to journey by the COVID-19 Job Drive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
The airplane later took off from Palembang and touched down in Batam at 7:52pm.
