Dr Haynes is the Deputy Dean for Graduate Research and Analysis, School of Legislation on the College of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. He beforehand served as Secretary Common of the Arbitration and Mediation Courtroom of the Caribbean, and as Senior Authorized Officer on the British Excessive Fee, Bridgetown, Barbados. He has taught legislation at undergraduate and postgraduate ranges at Durham Legislation College, UK, the College of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, and Arden College, UK, and has additionally labored on the Jap Caribbean Supreme Courtroom in St Lucia. He has a PhD in Worldwide and Comparative Legislation from Durham College.
Created in 2009 on the initiative of the Authorities of the Dominican Republic, the UNESCO/Juan Bosch Prize is awarded each two years to younger social scientists who, via their work, contribute to strengthening the hyperlinks between analysis and public insurance policies. Endowed with US$ 12,000, the Prize additionally goals to encourage mental trade and dialogue in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Prize bears the title of the celebrated Dominican creator, politician, social analyst and fervent defender of democratic values and a tradition of peace, whose work has largely contributed to the examine of social and political processes within the Dominican Republic and within the Caribbean.
Earlier laureates have been Karen Nathalia Cerón Steevens (Colombia) in 2013; Manuel Alejandro Olivera Andrade (Bolivia) in 2015; and Estefanía Ciro (Colombia) in 2018.
The Prize might be awarded at a ceremony in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, within the first semester of 2022.
