Global food crisis grows from Russia's invasion of Ukraine
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Russia’s devastating war in Ukraine is dealing a heavy toll to the global food supply chain, as the conflict keeps vital goods from being exported.

A naval blockade of Ukraine’s southern ports is already having a serious impact on grain exports. Before Russia’s invasion, millions of tonnes of grain and produce was shipped from the country each month.

Dan Spector explains how the war is fuelling famine around the world, and how some countries are responding.

That’s not the root cause of the food shortages that are coming. It’s the screwed up covid response.

I highly highly doubt that we are in a food crisis. Go look at the grocery stores —they’re fully stocked. I work in about 30 grocery stores as a merchandiser and the stores are fine in AB. I’ve not heard of many supply chain issues either.

Utter nonsense. Maybe we should be dumping funds into agriculture rather than guns for Ukraine while we pass legislation to ban guns. 🤡🗺

The hypocrisy and racist agenda of the white western imperialist countries are clearly visible. Countries like Canada/US burn their wheat to maintain prices. The World Bank and the IMF are controlled by the white imperialist countries that lend money at high interest rates to poor countries so they can buy food grains at higher prices from western countries. Conditions are also attached to these agreements, such as the change of regime and the means by which western countries further exploit poor countries. Moreover, institutions like the World Food Program, UNICEF and WHO are controlled by the white imperialist countries that recruit whites and pay them thousands of euros (plus travel expenses and daily allowances, their land  cruisers and food of better quality and water are imported to maintain their standards of living).  All this so that they can distribute a few hundred euros to the poor each day. The whole system smacks of racism. India has only banned wheat exports by private traders as of 13th May and it excludes Egypt. India continues to provide food grains and cereals to other poor countries around the world. African countries were never treated as equals. The Europeans are only interested in exploiting African countries. Look at the racial abuses against people of African descent in European countries. Look at how African students were racially abused when they tried to flee Ukraine. The EU will, exploit the countries of Africa and the Middle East in exchange for wheat. That's why they're after the wheat. It is not necessary for the EU to make these supplies. Even countries like India can collect wheat from both Ukraine and Russia and supply it across Africa.  In addition, Indians have better relations with African countries. The sole objective of the EU is to impose its racial hegemony on African and Asian countries. The so called 'European values' is just the belief that the only thing great in life are genes (and hence the white skin).

It only analyzes the food crisis from one point of view. If it's a high school student eassy, it is likely to fail. The EU has often claimed that Russia is weaponizing gas, which the EU then uses ban on Russian gas as a weapon against the Russian economy. How can we believe that "Russia is clearly weaponizing food"? Are we such stupid?

How many years have we had major wars…and no other time in history has a war somewhere affected the WHOLE WORLDS food supply. Think about it…this is being done deliberately.

“Humans are the scariest animals. And also the most durable. It’s like that. People can get used to anything. But I don’t want to.” Those are very powerful and relatable words. God bless her and everyone else who just wants peace in this conflict.
