With Canadian travel to the U.S. still plummeting, some cities south of the border are begging visitors to come back.
Vacation hotspot Palm Springs, Calif., is making sure Canadians know they are welcome.
Banners with the Maple Leaf in a heart have been hung in the city’s downtown strip and in the airport.
Closer to the B.C.-U.S. border, towns with deep ties on both sides also say they are feeling the effects of what is happening in the White House.

Just the fact that Americans would say "go back to the way it was before" shows a complete disconnect with how Canadians feel. There's no staying "the same Palm Spring you fell in love with". I recently went to Grand Fork ND and the border patrol officer at Pembina ND was very nice I didn’t feel unwanted in the US at all so I think most of this is only from trumps mind I can’t say that all Americans like us going to the US but for most I think they do like us

I won’t travel to the states for at least the next 44 months, and there is a huge amount of doubt as to whether I’d ever deign to go again. Mexico likes my money, and deserves it far more than the US. The population there has grace, and knows what it’s like to deal with the US and be shivved in the kidneys by them …
Visit Mexico, a paradise destination with wonderful landscapes, culture, and cuisine, comparable to the United States, and despite the bad press, it's relatively safe.
Foreign tourists are welcomed with kindness and humility by Mexicans.
And you don't run the risk of being deported by ICEstapo to a gulag in El Salvador.
Trump got less than 50% of the popular vote and less than 20% of Americans citizens overall voted for him. He does not represent the majority of the country. His economic views on trade are out of step, even within the Republican Party, many just don't have the courage to say it publicly. This is not forever.
