This follows the approval of BPJPH’s 2026 budget increase by Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), totaling Rp2.1 trillion, to strengthen the implementation of the halal certification program and improve public access to halal services.
“This includes funding for 3.5 million free halal certificates for micro and small enterprises, as well as the formation of BPJPH regional offices across Indonesia to ensure easier access to halal certification services,” Haikal noted in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.
He explained that this initiative is part of BPJPH’s duties as a Non-Ministerial Government Institution (LPNK) tasked with implementing halal product assurance in Indonesia.
“As the only authorized institution in the country to manage halal product assurance, BPJPH has a major vision for 2025–2029: to establish the World Halal Center by 2029, in line with the ‘Advanced Indonesia vision toward a Golden Indonesia 2045,” Haikal affirmed.
“This vision aligns with the national development goals set in the 2025–2029 RPJMN and reflects BPJPH’s support for President Prabowo Subianto’s work programs,” he stated.
Haikal further noted that the additional budget will also be utilized to strengthen other halal assurance programs.
“These include efforts in digitalization, public outreach and education, and revisions to the Halal Product Assurance Law and related government regulations,” he stated.
“All of this will be carried out efficiently, as directed by the president, with careful consideration of program priorities and their impact on the wider community,” Haikal concluded.
