The US president claimed his influence was the reason behind the popular soft drink changing its recipe in America to use cane sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup.
However, there will be no change to the current offering Down Under, Coca-Cola Australia has confirmed.
“There is no change in Australia,” the company told 9news.com.au.
“We already use only cane sugar in Coca-Cola Classic.”
The Australian variant of Coke is not alone in using cane sugar, with Coca-Cola sold in Mexico also avoiding the use of high-fructose corn syrup.
Corn syrup is a common and cheap sweetener, which was a key reason behind Coca-Cola’s switch from cane sugar many years ago.
