According to a post on the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account on Wednesday, Wijaya explained that President Prabowo discussed the progress of the rice field development program and the state of national food security with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He stated that the national rice stock currently stands at 4.2 million tons. With these reserves, the government ensured that the public’s food needs would remain secure in the near future.
In the following meeting, the president received a report from Minister of Investment and Downstream Development, also serving as Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, regarding the progress of Indonesia’s strategic initiative concerning land ownership in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Wijaya stated that it was a historic policy, the first of its kind in the country’s regulations.
President Prabowo also summoned Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait to discuss several strategic housing programs, including plans for a large-scale rollout of subsidized housing and a breakthrough in the People’s Business Credit (KUR) program for housing.
The president’s agenda on Wednesday concluded with him chairing a limited meeting, where one of the issues discussed was the violations of premium and medium rice quality standards in the market.
“The head of state gave clear direction that firm action will be taken against those who commit violations. The legal process must proceed,” the cabinet secretary remarked.
