Prime Minister Mark Carney has arrived in Europe. Carney will spend the next few days meeting with political leaders to discuss securing a ceasefire for Ukraine. He’s also shoring up economic alliances in the face of U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war. The trip includes stops in Germany and Poland. Global News’ David Akin is travelling with the prime minister and has more on his agenda.
Carney’s trip comes one day after he agreed to drop retaliatory tariffs covered by CUSMA (the North American Free Trade Agreement). Former deputy prime minister John Manley joins Jeff Semple to discuss the move.

In fact, no new trade deals with Europe or Germany, only signed photo op declarations with Carney that are not binding. Over 160 days since taking office and he had accomplished nothing with our biggest trading partner, and has given in to digital services tax and other tariffs, while getting nothing in return. He doesn't even have a riding office. He gave 1 billion to China to build ferries. No new pipelines. Immigration madness continues. Totally incompetent.
