British Columbia’s health authority is dealing with a mass resignation of doctors from one of its hospitals.
Seven OB/GYNs have resigned from in-hospital care in Kamloops, according to a letter signed by the doctors on Saturday and obtained by CFJC News.
The doctors say they have safety concerns due to a changing workload and an inability to recruit, adding that they feel support for women’s health at the provincial level is lacking.
As Klaudia Van Emmerik reports, the situation is strikingly similar to a recent crisis at Kelowna General Hospital.

The conservatives in these provincial matters should wake up. Healthcare system needs all the help it can get!
Wow! Global doesn’t even know what city they are reporting on.😡
My elderly mother is in hospital …they tell me they could not turn her over in bed frequently ( she has nasty bedsores ) because of shortage of staff. When I came in this morning …8 staff around nursing station …chatting….laughing and occupied on their cell phones! Figure it out !!
It's Kamloops not Kelowna when you click on the article
😂 and all these hippies want more funding? Why should the tax payer pay for medical aide for non tax payers? Stop giving non taxpayers access.
Canada sucks.
Global News isn't trustworthy.
Kamloops Drs walk out over healthcare safety concerns
Elbows up !
How many thousands of health care workers were fired because of COVID vaccine mandates? Who's getting more sick nowadays? Not tracking that question eh.
All is well in Canada
Three letters NDP. Activists have no idea how to govern Canada.
Elbows up! 🤡
Kelowna or Kamloops? Or both?
Ya though CBC was bad, then ya watched Global News.
I have been in Kelowna hospital a couple of times in last few years I have staninless nee I am stainless needs a stainless steel knees, and and titanium rod rod rod in my back
It does not take time to shift a culture. Administrative staff, managers must simply treat staff with respect and dignity. The hospital needs to hire enough staff to deliver the care necessary. Too many hospitals have skeleton crews for high acuity leading to burnout. The government must support the need for more staff to deliver the standard of care.
Why does it says Kelowna on the heading on this utube? Wrong.
Eby and Dix need to resign
Wrong hospital
Gee…sure is a shame there wasn't some industry willing to bring income to BC… like a pipeline or something 🙄😏
