“This collaboration represents the shared commitment of Indonesia and the UAE to deliver inclusive and high-quality health services,” Prabowo said in a Foreign Ministry statement issued in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He expressed appreciation for the UAE government’s support in opening access for Indonesians to advanced medical innovations, particularly in specialized cardiac care requiring modern technology and trained professionals.
RS KEI was inaugurated by President Prabowo and Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who represented the UAE President, underscoring the strategic importance of the bilateral partnership.
Senior officials attending included Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, and UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, reflecting high-level backing for the initiative.
According to the Foreign Ministry, RS KEI forms part of a broader UAE government grant to Surakarta and stands as a tangible symbol of both nations’ friendship in strengthening health infrastructure.
The hospital, equipped with international-standard medical technology, is expected to expand cardiac services for Indonesians, accelerate emergency response, and reinforce the long-term resilience of the national healthcare system.

RS KEI has already begun limited operations and will gradually increase its service capacity as staffing, equipment deployment, and operational systems scale to full functionality.
During the same event, a Letter of Intent was signed between the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs to advance technology-based education cooperation.
The LoI is expected to strengthen learning quality at Islamic educational institutions through inclusive, sustainable, and measurable technology solutions designed to improve teaching outcomes and digital access.
The Foreign Ministry noted that this cooperation contributes to modernizing education services and aligns with Indonesia’s broader efforts to integrate digital tools across religious and community-based learning systems.
The health and education partnerships highlight the close relations between Indonesia and the UAE and reaffirm the two nations’ commitment to delivering concrete benefits for their citizens through long-term collaboration.
