Over 70 thousand legal aid posts established in 24 provinces: minister

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian government has so far established 70,115 Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum) across villages in 24 provinces, according to Law Minister Supratman Andi Agtas.

Speaking at the Peacemaker Justice Awards 2025 in Jakarta on Wednesday, he outlined that those posts provide four main services: legal information and consultation, legal aid and advocacy, mediation, and lawyer referral.

Through the posts, a total of 3,839 legal services have been provided by paralegals and village heads acting as peace mediators.

According to Agtas, the legal aid posts are the embodiment of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita missions, particularly the sixth mission, namely carrying out development from villages and from the lowest level for economic equity and poverty eradication.

He added that it also aligns with the seventh mission of Asta Cita, namely, strengthening political, legal, and bureaucratic reform, and enhancing the prevention and eradication of corruption and drug abuse.

The minister noted that at the High-Level Meeting of the Justice Action Coalition in Madrid, Spain, on November 11, 2025, he had reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to expanding access to justice.

This is in line with target 16.3 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely promoting the rule of law at the national and international levels and ensuring equal access to justice for all.

He stated that this commitment is realized through collaboration with accredited Legal Consultation and Aid Institutions (LKBH) and universities, allowing students to learn and contribute directly through the legal aid posts.

At Wednesday’s event, he also expressed gratitude to all parties that have supported the legal aid posts’ operations.

“I hope this achievement can lead us to one goal: peaceful villages that will truly represent Indonesia,” he remarked.
