“The collaborations are packaged in the form of research collaboration and student exchanges, with funding from several donor institutions initiated by the Global Ocean Account Partnership,” said Akhmad Fauzi in a statement from the IPB University in Bogor City on Friday.
Akhmad Fauzi is the Head of the Doctoral Program in Regional and Rural Development Planning at the IPB University Graduate School.
The IPB University has received full support from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia through the Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP) program to establish research collaborations with universities in Vietnam.
According to Fauzi, the collaboration agreement aims to increase the Regional and Rural Development Planning Study Program’s involvement in international research.

The Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP) is an international initiative that helps countries develop “ocean accounts,” a standardized recording system that combines economic, environmental, and social data related to the ocean.
Its goal is to ensure that ocean policies are based on comprehensive, measurable, and comparable data across countries.
GOAP is a multi-stakeholder partnership involving governments, international organizations, and research institutions. The co-chairs of GOAP are the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP RI) and the Charles Darwin Foundation.
The GOAP secretariat is hosted by the UNSW Centre for Sustainable Development Reform at the University of New South Wales.
The partnership’s activities are funded by the UK Blue Planet Fund, the World Bank Blue Economy Program, Australia’s Oceans Leadership Package, and the Australia-India Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative Partnership.
