Pos Indonesia launches cargo services for migrant workers, pilgrims

Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Pos Indonesia has launched an international cargo service aimed at Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), as well as Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, to facilitate the delivery of goods from overseas to Indonesia.

Prasabri Pesti, Acting Director of Pos Indonesia’s Courier and Logistics Business, said the service offers shipments from abroad to Indonesia with relaxed import duty arrangements for Hajj pilgrims and Indonesian migrant workers, competitive shipping rates, real-time tracking, and faster delivery through air cargo.

“Supported by Pos Indonesia’s nationwide network, this service is expected to provide tangible benefits for Indonesian migrant workers and pilgrims,” Pesti said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

He said shipments from Indonesian migrant workers in Saudi Arabia currently reach between 80 and 100 tons per month.

The international cargo service is designed to meet the logistics needs of migrant workers who require efficient, secure, and reliable shipping solutions.

The cargo service for Indonesian migrant workers, Hajj pilgrims, and Umrah pilgrims prioritizes compliance with customs regulations, shipment security, and integrated service processes, from receiving goods overseas and transporting them by air cargo to final distribution to recipients in Indonesia.

Through coordination with relevant ministries and institutions, Pos Indonesia said it remains committed to strengthening its role as a key gateway for international cargo shipments.

The service is also expected to expand the company’s contribution to supporting the logistics needs of Indonesians overseas as part of its transformation into a national and international logistics provider.
