“The commitment will be followed up with concrete steps between the business communities of both nations, represented by Kadin Indonesia and BritCham,” said Chairperson of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Bakrie, who accompanied the president during his visit to London on Tuesday.
Bakrie explained that Kadin will work closely with BritCham to expand market access, investment opportunities, and industrial and technological development.
He emphasized BritCham’s equal role in realizing the shared commitment to stronger bilateral trade, as highlighted during President Prabowo’s visit.
The president’s trip included meetings with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, followed by a business and investment forum and a banquet at Lancaster House attended by business leaders and officials from both countries.
Bakrie noted that President Prabowo’s presence at the forum underscored Indonesia’s strong commitment to deepening economic and strategic investment ties with the United Kingdom.
“Moreover, the same commitment is shared by the British counterpart,” he added.
Kadin Indonesia expressed optimism that bilateral cooperation will yield mutually beneficial business deals, driving economic growth, job creation, and public well-being.
Bakrie stressed that synergy between Kadin and BritCham will be crucial in translating government-level commitments into tangible outcomes.
During the London visit, Kadin also held meetings with strategic partners, including UK Pension Funds and the Investment Exchange, to explore long-term investment opportunities.
