President briefed on updates to national programs in limited meeting

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto, on Sunday, convened a limited meeting at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, where he received updates on national strategic programs from ministers and state officials.

The meeting took place within 24 hours following the president’s arrival in Jakarta after concluding his European tour to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and France.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in his statement as confirmed here on Sunday evening, said that the meeting proceeded all day long, from afternoon to evening.

“Upon his return from overseas visit, President Prabowo wants to hear updates on strategic programs from related officials,” Wijaya, who attended the meeting, stated.

The ministers who attended the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Higher Education Minister Brian Yuliarto, and others, he noted.

During the meeting, the president received reports on Red-and-White Co-operatives in various regions from Coordinating Minister Hasan and developments in the energy and mineral resources sector from Minister Lahadalia.

Prabowo also heard updates on higher education cooperation from Minister Yuliarto and financial and banking policies from Minister Sadewa.

At the same occasion, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Military Commander General Agus Subiyanto briefed the president on their respective areas, while Attorney General ST Burnahuddin reported to the president on his side’s efforts to enforce laws in national parks.

As depicted in photographs from the closed-door meeting, the President and his officials were seated around a round table. The President was flanked by Coordinating Minister Hasan and Minister Lahadalia on his sides.

Also attending the meeting were Military Deputy Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita, State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Chief M. Herindra, President Director of state defense company Pindad Sigit P. Santosa, and the Defense Ministry’s Defence Logistics Agency Head Vice Marshal Yusuf Jauhari.
