Confronted with a well being emergency after a long time of failed clean-up efforts, Jakarta is now stepping in with a seemingly unattainable aim: make the Citarum’s water drinkable by 2025. The World Financial institution declared it the most-polluted river on the earth a decade in the past, an outline broadly picked up by media and environmentalists. It usually seems on most-polluted lists alongside India’s Ganges river, the Mississippi river in america and China’s Yellow river. Analysis has proven it has alarming ranges of poisonous chemical compounds, together with 1,000 occasions extra lead than the US commonplace for secure ingesting water.

What's the use of cleaning the river if the people keep making it dirty, you have to educate and change the mindset of the public before you can start cleaning.
The Indonesians should learn from Singapore.
Dirty country in the world
People you interviewed might not be innocent and probably have had a hand in polluting the river as well. Many ppl become hypocrite these days
If these countries willing to fund my idea I guarantee I changed their ways of living within 10 years…

The correct name of this river is Shitarum 😅
When rivers are thrown with garbage whether it is in shape of flowers etc. by prime minister of country himself or else how can administration stop others not to follow suit.
Strange is that prime minister himself became popular prime minister after cleaning garbage on land how can he made such type of silly mistake. It looks out of control that is mind disorder since he is well aware of cleaning steps as a Whip.
Now question is why he is doing so;
1. For inauguration why this nonsense activity needed?
2. For personal grah kat? What remains left now. As he is already PM. If want to go back home who stopped. If want relaxation again who stopped. If old age activity. What message he is giving to nation? If misguided by some one than who is wise?
Think what went wrong.
Mabye killing the CEOs of those shit companies might help, aka throw them in the river let them drown in the filth they created.

With the amount of bad publicity the Citarum River has received as the world's dirtiest river, it seems the Indonesian authorities are now taking action to clean it up. Key to the process is local community involvement as local citizens can become the river's guardians in terms of policing its pollution / http://www.rainwaterrunoff.com
I have been to Indonesia over 10 times over the past few years and the pollution problem is a societal problem. It is like America prior to the 1960's where littering and pollution is acceptable behavior. Match that with ineffective/nonexistent trash collection and industrial pollution and you get exactly this – the world's dirtiest river. The ocean waters surrounding Indonesia are filled with plastic waste as well. The government needs to step up its game by educating its people about the harm of pollution and spend the money needed to collect waste as well. As to making water "drinkable" I wouldn't touch it ever. I have gotten giardia twice while there and can't risk it again. I will say that one sign of a failed state is its inability to provide for basic human needs – like drinking water. Just my opnion based on my observations.
It is Indonesia beybe!
Konten begini sepi yang liat. konten sampah malah banyak yang liat.
Citarum now look better if your not believe me search citarum 2020 , cz the people already educated by the government and now target 2025 citarum can use for drink ,

Today the Citarum River is better with a light level of pollution, the "Citarum Harum" program since 2018 has changed the river for the better, the Citarum water quality index value in 2020 is 55 and the standard for water quality is 70
Please confirm,is it a river or a sewage line???
Please open for other young indonesians to cooperate with this content is very useful thank you very much
If they're setting up factories and warehouses here due to cheap labor, the best thing to do is estimate the how much it would cost them to move their factories to a different country, and increase the taxes just enough so that it wouldnt be worth it for them to leave while still getting more money to clean up the river.
Philippines is a far way good example in combating densely polluted rivers and eventually earned a massive success against cleaning and reviving dead water for a decades.
lets take photos after a flood washed buildings down river and use it as a pollution fundraiser? there are many ways to avert pollution , incineration , shredding, and mixing with sand and concrete to make buildings for the homeless.
they promise …
That was a load of crap. Your headline does not match the story, sorry dramatic music and film.
The most dirtiest river
Indian rivers : Hold my holy shit
This isn't just in that country. It is everywhere. We all need to think about what we do with the waste we have. I went to the Forida Keys a few years ago and I could not believe how horrible the water was right next to the hotel we were staying at. There are not many beaches in the keys. Just those man made. There was a very small one where we stayed. I love to snorkle and when I went out there it made me sick. There was so much trash of every kind. I picked up probably two trash cans full just in that small place. People don't see it so much on most Us beaches because they are cleaned up all the time. But just go out a little from many places and you will see it . Much less so many of our rivers are horrible as well. I remember going to my mothers family and they had a creek next to there homes. All the people there had there toliets empty into the creek and would throw much of there trash in it and think nothing of it. When I complained, my mom said that they didn't have any place to put it.. maybe at one time that was true but there were public dumps but they were probabl y an hour away. And most would just not take the time or effort to go.
Drinkable water is already limited as is, why is it important to make sure to both conserve and clean freshwater sources like rivers? Why are many of these rivers polluted and undrinkable without risking negative health effects? #livetree #freshwater
If there's an updated video on this can somebody notify me so I can look it up on YouTube
Trust me guys, now Citarum River is more better and please give standing applause for military, government, and volunteer who made this happen
Start with the people who own the factories and let them know how to fix the problem and then make them pay fines personally until they fix the problem at the same time provide waste disposal for the poor. You get a lot more done with hitting the owners with hefty fines and use that money to help clean up their mess. Make sure to use an outside supervising agency as it is obvious that the local officials are on the take. Don't let them shut down and move make them fix it.
Yeah right. The river is polluted with mercury, lead, arsenic and who knows what other chemicals. Sure they are just going to wave a magic wand and clear up decades worth of poisons from the river beds and banks. Another fantasy story designed to make us think that we can keep going on poisoning the earth and things will eventually be ok.
I'm currently on Pl. Tidung on the Thousand Islands (just off Jakarta). The island get a tremendous amount of plastic waste from the sea, but the locals also throw plastic trash wherever they like there's no cause/effect.
