“As of today, distribution has reached almost 400,000 tons,” Perum Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said in Jakarta on Sunday.
He explained that SPHP rice has been distributed through market retailers, Village/Kelurahan Merah Putih Cooperatives (Kopdes), modern retail outlets, and Bulog’s Rumah Pangan Kita (RPK).
In addition, Bulog also delivers SPHP rice through the nationwide Cheap Food Movement (GPM).
The distribution of SPHP rice has helped lower the inflation rate from 214 districts and cities to 100 districts and cities.
Bulog has set a target to distribute 1.3 million tons of SPHP rice by the end of the year, with an expected daily distribution of 6,000 tons.
“We are confident that the target of 1.3 million tons will be met,” Rizal said.
As of today, in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta alone, SPHP rice distribution has reached 26,071 tons or 16.9 percent.
The distribution is made up of 55.32 percent through retail partners, 5.51 percent through GPM, and 22.27 percent through other activities.
“In our view, this achievement is already very good, particularly the distribution through retail partners,” Rizal noted.
SPHP rice is distributed by Bulog from the Government Rice Reserve (CBP).
It is sold at the highest retail price (HET) of Rp12,500 per kilogram for zone 1 (Java, Lampung, South Sumatra, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi), Rp13,100 per kilogram for zone 2 (Sumatra excluding Lampung and South Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan), and Rp13,500 per kilogram for zone 3 (Maluku and Papua).
Currently, Bulog’s total government rice reserves in its warehouses stand at 3.9 million tons.
Of this amount, around 2.95 million tons or 75 percent come from domestic procurement, while the remainder comes from overseas procurement based on government assignments in 2024.
Launched on July 18, 2023, the SPHP program — led by Bapanas in partnership with Bulog — aims to control inflation, ensure rice availability, and keep prices affordable for lower- and middle-income communities.
