He urged sharia property developers to act as drivers of change in the 3 Million Houses Program.
“The sharia concept is a grand concept from God. Do not feel marginalized. This industry must have the courage to step forward, take the stage, and deliver the solutions the peoples have long been waiting for,” said Fahri in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.
He emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto is committed to protect a fair housing system and ensuring that policies which do not serve the public interest are corrected.
“Under the President’s leadership, any systems that promotes greater fairness will be protected. If there is any system that is unjust, it must be corrected by all means,” he said.
Fahri noted that challenges in Indonesia’s housing sector remain enormous. Therefore, the social housing sector must be protected from speculative practices and restored to its primary purpose of meeting the basic needs of the people.
Collaboration between the government and sharia property industry players is expected to accelerate the fulfillment of national housing needs, and become an important pillar in the developing of the people’s economy.
The building and renovation of 3 million houses stands as a concrete manifestation of President Prabowo Subianto commitment to ensuring that all Indonesians are liberated from socioeconomic inequality.
The primary goal of the 3 Million Houses Program is to provide access to decent housing for those living in extreme poverty, the poor, and the lower-middle class, while also narrowing the gap between urban, rural, and coastal communities.
