A 3D-printed Rizal monument—apparently the tallest 3D monument of the hero—will likely be unveiled on the grounds of the Division of Science and Expertise (DOST) Plaza on Rizal Day, December 30.
The statue, which stands at 12.5 toes, will likely be revealed in commemoration of Dr. Jose Rizal’s one hundred and twenty fifth 12 months of martyrdom since he was executed by firing squad on December 30, 1898. DOST secretary Fortunato dela Peña earlier mentioned that the 3D statue won’t be a reproduction of the present monument in Rizal Park, and can depict Rizal as a scientist.
The statue was reportedly designed by UP Faculty of Arts professor Jose Manuel Sicat, and was 3D-printed at DOST Superior Manufacturing Heart of the Metals Trade Analysis and Improvement Heart.
The science secretary mentioned, “We’re paying tribute to the various works of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, particularly within the subject of science. We consider that this undertaking is an efficient inspiration to our youth of at this time to maximise their capabilities and capability to studying. Like Dr. Rizal, there is no such thing as a circumstance that might cease us from studying.”
