Indonesia’s Ministry of International Affairs has introduced the passing of the nation’s ambassador to Ukraine, Ghafur Akbar Dharmaputra. He was 58.
The ministry’s spokesman Teuku Faizasyah stated in an announcement that Ghafur handed away from an unspecified medical situation at a Jakarta hospital at 9:50pm on Thursday.
The Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv posted a shifting farewell for Ghafur.
“He was a frontrunner who was form, reliable, and accountable. We are going to all the time keep in mind the examples he has set and his goodness,” the caption reads.
Born on Feb. 16, 1964 in Bandung, West Java, Ghafur was appointed by President Joko Widodo as Indonesia’s ambassador to Ukraine in November 2021.
He was lauded for being instrumental in evacuating Indonesians from the Jap European nation following Russia’s invasion on Feb. 24.
